                                                                                                Hartford January 27th 1861
 
            Dear Mother
                                                            When I came out here I promised to send a letter as soon as I got here but I have not writen yet but now I will try It I stoped in Hartford but they ware not home then so I went to coventry and Cyrus was with Mr Douglass and he told me to come to Hartford the next monday. I have not found any work yet. Alley is not very well she has had a very bad cold but is getting better now Lizzy Elizebeth is not very well Lewis is well I have had a very bad Headache and so do not feel very well now tell Henry that I shall write to him soon I do not feel very well and will not write any more at presant
