Jason Bates Norris
Jason Bates Norris was born on November 3, 1823, in Canandaigua, New York, to John B. Norris and Betsey Gage. His father was a carpenter who served in the War of 1812. He married Elizabeth Kinney on December 3, 1856, and they had nine children. He moved to Woodbridge, Michigan, around 1855, and he earned a living as a farmer. He supported the Republican Party, and he served several terms as town supervisor and town treasurer. Local voters elected him to the state legislature in 1870. He died in Woodbridge on September 16, 1905.
