April the 3 1861
Dear brother I sit down this sabbath morning to answer your to last letters as I am hindered to day from going to church by sickness my baby is sick and so is Jane and I have had such a sore throat my self I am affraid friend that I have the [?]erofilus in my throat the rest are all well. Dr F[?] burrys his wife today and old Mr Bookerly is dead and so is old Tommy martins wife their has been a great many deaths this winter they have got the small pox out back of M[?] his wifes mother and sister and one of the boys and so has Rob stavers wifes family well Thomas has moved to new burry this spring well frank you spoke of uncle Charles family the last we heard of his family they lived in york state I think the letter was mailed from a/called Cahojaharia office or County I don’t mind which but you could find out at some post office if their is such a place but uncle Malons family lives near philadelphia he is dead but the last word we had his widow was still living at their ouwn home near the city at what was called the bear tavern about 20 miles from the city I would like to hear from uncle charles family once when you write to cousin mary give my love to her and tell her to write to me once I would like to go and see her when you get home I think you and I will have to try and go to see her once well frank we havent much news in our place marry cas still says she is going to write to you we thoug we were going to have good school here for our too oldes children to go to but they dident succede in getting a room for him it was your old friend Daniel Moyyer he said you used to/write him but he said you had not written for some time he would like to hear from you I think rite well of him well Agnes keyser says she will write to you soon well frank I like the looks of that picture write well that you sent I call my baby Sarah Cas. they all went againts agnes for we have so many of them Ellis has another one but I dont know what it is I did not hear yet well anna Myers is quite fat she liked a man better than she though she would I gess according to appearances well frank I must now bring my writing to a close for the present I would have writen to you sooner if I would could have done it but my throat hurts me most all the time they want me to make it sore on the out side but I wont try that I have to cough so much you did not give me the name of your girl well frank I must now close for the present time hoping soon to hear from you again/
