My Dear Mother
We have not moved frome this camp yet So in the same old place I sit down to write to you and Sister again. The Band arrived here about 10 oclock Wednesday night We had all retired for the night but as soon as we heard of their arrival we jumped up to Greet them we were all verry glad to see friends and hear frome home. Yesterday I had the pleasure of Shakeing hands with Mr John A. Taylor Mr William Elliott and Mr Amos E Kapp And the Secretary of War Gen Simon Cameron Mr Kapp introduced/me to him He told me he used to know my father well and hoped that as a Soldier I would never disgrace the good name my father Bore. I told him I never would. Enclosed pleas find $7.00 Seven Dollars it is some of the money I received frome Uncle Sam for the Servics I have rendered him this you can use if you see fit and you need have no fear frome the approching hard Winter for I will send home my wages as often as convenient and you can live without working so hard. I am perfectly well and the onely thing that troubles me is that Headache that troubles you so much. I hope to hear when you answer this letter of you being quite/
Well. Tell the York County folks when they write to me when you write to them that if they want to hear frome me they must Give me their directions and I will answer them
