                                                Dear Agnes

it is now after 9 oclock and I am seated to write you my regular sabbath letter I have been to church this evening there is now a protracted meeting in progress it has been going on for two weeks and I guess will prove to be a good one I hope it may. I do not only hope but I sincerely pray for the blessing of god on our meeting and our country this night my Dear Agnes I was one among those who bowed at the alter of prayr oh that god in mercy may look upon me and that to bless I cannot live a sinner so far from god. it is now that I would love to hear the beautiful hymn sung I love to steal a while away/from my cumbring care and spend the hours of setting day in humble grateful prayr. this is a hard place to live right but I will pray for faith and strength and I trust I will have the prayrs of my friends who are far away I know I have their prayrs now but I will ask the prayrs of their whole hearts Agnes none but god knows my heart to night mercy is all my plea could I but give him all my heart. I am going to persevere if I can get out on tomorrow night I will again kneel at the altar of prayr if I cannot get out I will kneel before him here and ask his forgivness oh that god would now draw near and bless me. I have long been a wanderer and to night I bless god for his goodness and mercy. Dear Agnes I will not write you a very long letter as I will be in need of rest part of our regiment is back here in the city but I think they will not stay as we are getting up a train for them to leave with I heard that mead was crossing the Rappihan river/and that they were now fighting in front I am afraid it will be a hard battle but hope for the best. I have not heard from my brother one of my tent mates is sick I am much afraid he is going to have the fever. Dear Agnes this letter is a short one but you will please excuse my love to your Mother Dan Aunt C and all others.

                                    except the love of your
true lover may god bless and
protect you is the prayr of your lover

Dear Agnes                 Frank C Miller
