Dear Agnes
this beautiful sabbath morning I am seated to write you the regular weekly letter this is the most beautiful morning that I have experienced for more than three years now why is this morning more beautiful than other sabbath mornings. I will tell you. I feel it so in my heart on last evening we were assembled together in one of the apartments of our work shop for a prayr meeting there was quite a number of professors present and a much larger number who were not professors. the meeting was opened by the reading of a chapter and prayr. I tell you there was a deep interest taken in the meeting some who have been cold and neglectful of their duty could not help but give way to the power of the almighty and/they during the progress of the meeting could not help but speak for christ. now Dear Agnes to night one week ago I was at church down in the city and an invitation was given to any who wished to come forward there was on the seat with me several of my comrads one of them who set next to me said to me in a joking manner Frank you had better go though he was a wicked man. I felt my condemnation and felt it severely and I thought for a moment oh the feeling of that moment I never want to experience such feeling again but I could not rest and I arose from my seat and went forward since then my life is changed and this beautiful sabbath morning Dear Agnes how much better I feel I would love to meet with you in the class room this morning I love the class room and the prayr meeting and I love those who meet there there is another I love it is Agnes. I have been looking at you this morning but you did not speak but let us hope if god spares us we shall meet each other yet. In this mornings paper I see the president has called for three hundred thousand volunteers and gives them the full bounty/of veteran volunteers which I believe is five hundred and ten dollars and gives them until january next to raise the number called for and if they are not raised by that time there will be a draft. then I pity the poor fellows again but I am in hopes enough will volunteer so there will be no draft. we have no news from our army this morning. I heard from my brother a week or two ago I heard through one of his corespondants he was well. I have not much news to write part of our regiment is here and part of them with the army I think our company will stay here in the shop all winter and perhaps longer for my part I want to serve out my time here. well Dear Agnes I will close give my love to your Mother Aunt Dan and all who inquire
except the love of your ever true
lover. Frank C. Miller
to Agnes write soon
I have had no letter this week
remember the class room the prayr meeting and above all the rest remember the secret prayr.
