Anna M. Pike to Francis C. Miller, 28 December 1863
                        Johnstown Dec. 28th 1863

            Friend Frank
I have today been thinking of writing to you but still put it off. I often think of you and of the many happy hours we used to spend together do you ever think of them? or have you forgotten but I think that you still remember them or you would not have thought of writing to you me when you did I am glad that as I could not correspond at that time with any person to [?] made my letters agreeable that you kept up the correspondence with my/Sister as I am always glad to hear from you and to know that I am still remembered as one of your friends and hope when your time is expired we will have the pleasure of seeing you again and again enjoy your society.

Do you ever hear from the other gentlemen that were here with you. I heard from Mr Farley about a year or maybe more than that ago to send his respects to me and asked to be remembered by me. Mr Stewart I believe I have not heard from since left but remember his songs and music and often wish he were here when I am sad to sing. Mr Brooks was here about a year ago I think helping to put up some trussel work but did not call I understood that he was drinking and was ashamed to let any of his Lady friends see him. I did not know he was here untill after he had gone. But I must close as I will write too much and Moll wont send it. (that is a mistake) I hope you will still let us hear from you and remember

                                    your old friend
