Dear Frank
With a heart that is any thing else but light I take my seat with the intention of pencilling a few lines to you I do not know whether they will ever reach you or not but I hope they may I received your last on monday and Frank I must say it contained the last news I expected or wanted to hear they came very un unwelcome to me for I had my hopes built up on your staying at washington all winter untill your three Months would be served out it seems as though disapointments come every hour of the day/
And since the time I received your last I have not had one alltogether happy hour nor do not expect to have untill I hear from you again I feel very anxious about your welfare and dear Frank if this reaches you please answer the first opertunity you have I think I know the place you are destined for and I have my mind made up as to what dangers you will have to meet so you may know I shall feel very anxious to hear from you from one time to another and how much I will miss my little weekly visitor from dear frank still I should not complain as this will be a just punishment for my delinquency about answering yours I comenced a letter last/sunday but did not finish it as I was not at all well and did not feel as though I could sit up long enough to write and I cannot say I am well yet I have my old summer cough back and it seems disposed to settle on my breast it has been very tight and if I do not soon get something to relieve me I dont know what I will do with my self I told Mother this morning I would run off and loose my self she allowed I would be very willing to find my self and run back again The rest are well and I hope and pray this may find my Dear Frank safe and well to and may god in love and Mercy throw around and about you his protection keep you safe from harm and evil/
