            My Dear Agnes

I am seated to write you my regular weekly letter. I have just returned from church and I do not intend writing a very lengthy letter as it is now after 9 P.M. and as I will visit you on wednesday evening next it will not be of much use to write much I am going back to Washington to work this winter in the navy yard I received a letter from there last evening and am offered much better wages than I can possibly get here, and during the winter season it will be much pleasanter there than here, so on wednesday evening you may look for me to visit you I will spend thursday with you and on thursday/evening I will take the train for Washington I would like to spend the winter here very much but will go where I think I can do the best so in answer to this you need not write but I hope to meet you face to face. My brother is now at home and is not well he complains of his throat but I think it is nothing more than a cold I hope not for I would not want to go away if he were sick.

I have nothing new to write you and as I can talk much better than write I will not continue my letter any longer but Agnes I could not write a very long letter for Annalize is tormenting me and says if I was good looking I might live with out working or els live on love what kind of a living do you think I would have I imagine it would be a very hungry living but never the less I can and do love but that will not keep me

well Dear Agnes I will bid you good night

my love to all from your affectionate lover
