  My Dear Agnes
this beautiful sabbath morning I am pleasantly seated to write my regular weekly letter hoping this may find you as it leaves me in perfect health yesterday was an exciting day but not to me for I was not out much until after two oclock in the morning it was raining and the streets were not only shoe deep but knee deep with mud and I prefered not getting muddy for to see the procession though it was quite large but you know I have seen processions so much larger than the present inaugural one/that I did not care to see it

but the after part of the day was very beautiful at noon the sky was clear and the warm sun rays came down so pleasant that notwithstanding the much mud I ventured out and with me was a Williamsport friend of mine who came down here on friday night so I was not lonesome as long as I were with him but he left me at three oclock on his return north after which I returned to my boarding place and their partook of a good supper I then dressed up and went out to Mr Crosses to spend the evening where I was until nearly ten oclock and while I was there I had my fortune told I wish you had heard it why if it ever comes true it will be enough sorrow to kill ten/men but some thing were true and more that was not true.

Dear Agnes another month or a little more than a month is yet to pass away before we meet how soon time flies away but it cannot fly too swiftly until I am permitted to meet you again in the fond embraces of love. but I am somewhat worried as I cannot meet my payments in April but I will not say any thing concerning them at present I will wait until April comes and then do my best to get through where there is a will there is surely a way. I have no particular news to write and I will close by sending my love to one and all

except the love of a true lover yours
in affection     F C Miller to Agnes J. Voris
