My Dear Agnes
this beautiful sabbath morning I am seated to write you another weekly letter I have been looking very anxiously for a letter from you in the past week but I suppose you have defered writing until after the holidays are over and I will soon hear how you have spent them. I hope very pleasantly. I spent both days here as pleasantly as could be expected. I am going to get my place in the navy yard this week on wednesday I am going in the yard. then I will have a nice place and a nice place to board as I have got a boarding house or rather boarding with a private family and room with one of the young men of the family. he is a christian man to. just such a room mate/as I will like. and the family are all very lively. I can tell you more of them in my next though I know I will like the place. I received a letter from my brother yesterday evening stating that the house I traded for was in a very bad condition the cellar was full of water and it was not what it was represented to be to me and I have written to the man with whom I was going to trade that I would with draw and keep the old property or would sell him the old property for a hundred more than I paid for it for if I keep the old property there is three houses which I can rent for 1.50 and have a place to live my self I think I will hold on to it and then I will have a place to move to if we both live the part of the house I would live in there is two rooms below and two above it would be room enough for two of us wouldent it if I keep my health I will be home in march about the 25th then I will know/what I can do I have no news in particular to write and as I want to attend church I will close. Dear Agnes write soon and tell me all the news

my love to your mother Aunt C. Dan & others          except the love of your true
and affectionate lover
