My Dear Agnes
this beautiful sabbath morning finds me seated to write you the regular weekly letter which is a pleasure to me. since my last I have been enjoying fine health and am very much pleased with my boarding place find the family to be clever sociable and some of them religious but with all these to make me happy and contented I am not and I long for spring to come when if we live I hope to meet thee and yet my Dear Agnes I fully reallize the great responsibility that will then rest upon me but you know the old/saying is where there is a will there is a way and if health does not fail me I trust I will be able to meet evry object I have in view. since my last we have had more pleasant weather but it is yet pretty cold for this place

Dear Agnes I have not had a letter from you since my return please write to me as soon as you get this one and let me know what your mother has concluded to do so if I will have to make any different changes I will have ample time to do so but I hope what you and I talked over will be satisfactory to her. there has been a baptist meeting going on here for some time with very good success to night there will be twenty baptized they baptize at night as they baptize in the church./

I think I will go to see them but I expect the church will be very much crowded for very many think it is good as a show. but do not think that is my thought on baptism for I believe in immersion but not in close communion soldiers are comeing into washington from the western army our whole corps has arrived they are from thomasses army and are commanded by Maj. General Schofield but I do not know where they intend going but I think they will reinforce General Sheridan the peace commissioners have returned what they have accomplished has not yet come to us in print but judge not much good. I will now close my love to all from your true and Aft lover F C Miller to Agnes F Voris
