My Dear Agnes

I am seated in my room to write you a short letter hoping it may find you all as it leaves me in perfect health though with an anxious mind as I have not had a letter from you since my return here. I cannot account for the silence on your part or why it is that I do not hear from you and I am getting more anxious to hear from you than at any other time of our correspondance I need not give my reason but now Dear Agnes/I have waited patiently for an answer nearly one month can you blame me for being a little impatient I hope I have done nothing said nothing that has caused this silence. but I trust you are perhaps like my self seated to spend an hour in friendly intercourse do I say friendly yes! I say more than friendship exists between us and I trust ere long it will be proved so by our union of hearts and hands I will wait very anxiously for the mail of tuesday to bring me the desired letter from your true hand and much truer heart. since my last we have had weather which is yet with us I will not write/a long letter as my room is cold and as there is company below I am obliged write in my room give my love to one and all reserving that large portion which is duly and truly yours

            from your ever affectionate
lover                F C Miller to Agnes
