Francis C. Miller to Agnes F. Voris, 2 April 1865
Washington D C
Apr 2nd 1865
My Dear Agnes
this very beautiful sabbath morning finds your lover seated to write you the regular weekly letter which will be the last one I expect to write you from this place as I intend leaving here on Saturday next to come up home and if nothing happens I will spend the next sabbath with you. I will say it will not be worth while to answer this letter for I would not get the answer and as I am comeing home I do not want to leave any letters behind I have not heard from you for some time/but I suppose you are looking for me evry day. I am sorry I could not come sooner but it was impossible. I have not heard from either of my brothers since the last draft and I do not know whether they are gone into the army or not. but I suppose I will find that out soon enough. I am very much worried but I suppose I will be more so on my arrival home yet I will not meet trouble half way for I know it will meet me plenty soon enough.
My Dear Agnes I cannot write to day for I do not feel like it and you will please excuse me I am well as usual and hope when you receive this you may all be enjoying good health. my love to one and all
your affectionate lover F C Miller to Agnes
