Mary I have rote to Uncle James
 
                                                                                    Warrenton Va. Feb 21st Sund/64
            Dear Sister
                                    I received my Box last night I got it sooner then I expected I thought it would come to night I tell you I was glad when I got it for it done me good to just look into it for it looked nice every thing was just as you put it in and I feel thank ful to you Mary for I suppose you cooked the most of it and to all the rest of you for every one dont get such a Box I tell you but I get enough to eat and I am contented with it John I like my knifes first rate I took the one that had my name on it. I let Albert Moulton have the other one for two Dollars Albert has sent home for a Box and if they have eny Roome you can put in some butter for me butter is .50ct per lb. out here Mary you/you rote that you hope wanted me to think where my Box come from and who cooked it Mary I doe think. and I think you did not sputter eny a bout it because you had to cook it did you I hope you will like up to the Great Falls and get a good trade and grow up to be a useful Woman and a good one as ower Dear Mother was I and I hope we all shall doe as Mother wanted use to and that was to be good Children and I hope we all shall meet her in heven I am injoying good helth and that is a great Blessing and I hope this letter will fiend you all the same give my love to all that may inquire for me all the Boys is well you must write a often as you can you must excuse my short letter I cant think of much more to write now
