                                                                                                Mr Woodward i take this opportunity to write you a few lines to let you know about Henry i have just received a letter from Richmond. Ramsdell stateing that he and and Henry was taken priseners and was taken to Richmond and Henry was wounded and taken to the hospittal and was having good Care taken of him and will probally be exchange soon by being wounded you wrote about Comeing out where he is but it would be impossable for you to do so. as we can here from him but we dont think we can write to him but we shall try when i here from him i shall write to you so you must not/worry to much about him it is nothing more than we can expect. the things that Henry had is of not of much account as he took some with him. most he took left was a pair of pants and a shirt and a few things of not much account we think not worth while to send them home i shall do what i can for for him if i can send him a letter i will i will write again soon we think he will be all rite soon the letters i shall send him as requested so i must bid you good by
