Warwick Swamp Sep. 9th /64
My Dear Father
I sit my self down to answer your kind and gladly received letter which I received the 7th. it was writen the 28th I was glad to hear from you and that you was all well your letter found me well I am still with the Reg. I dont know how long I shall stay with it. Father I had rather be here then in Camp Stoneman prehaps I shall be better of by coming to the Reg. in the end when they have move I suppose I shall be sent back I have not got any horse they will not get much out of me if I should keep/with the Compiny I should be out of the feighting I dont think it is eny use for you to try eny thing about geting me trasverd with out I should get to Washington if I should be sent a way prehaps I should be sent to Washington and then if I did not get well I think I should stand some sight to get transverd but I shant try to use my arm very soon good many think that if Lincoln is elected this war will settle this winter Charles Walker is here Albert Walker has been heard from by some that was a Prisoner and saw him they said that he was well I suppose Mr Walker has heard of it befor this time I dont expect to heard Grand-mother is alive by what/you wrote last. it is quite cold here to day I have no news to write at presant every thing is quiet here at presant
all the Boys are well
I will draw to a close hoping this letter will find you all well write as often as you can
