Dear Father
I sit my self down to answer your kind and gladly received letter which I received this morning it was writen on the Twenty-fife of this month it found me well and injoying good health I hope this will find you the same I send one last Friday and one yesterday I thought I would write and let you know that I had received you letter
 
                                                Father I you rote something a bout me geting Transvered prehaps theyr may be such a thing by having some one to interceed for me I would be willing to give a good deal if I could get my Discharge/for if I stay in the army I shall loose the use of my arm for I shall not try to use it any and if I was out of it I think I could get the use of it again by having some thing to put on it and I should try to use it all I could but as long as I stay here I shall not try to use it a to
 
            you can see Magor Rollins and tell him how I am and offer to pay him prety well if he will try but dont you say any thing a bout it to any one else Magor Tucker has Command of this Camp he belongs to my Regiment prehaps if Rollins should write to him he might do something for me
 
but I am in a very good place and dont have much to do/but then I should like to got out of it if I could you may try and see what you can do I have not much to write to day. write as often as you can and I will do the same good by
