Charles R. Coster to Evander M. Law, 25 November 1894
New York, 25 E 30.,
Nov. 25th 94.
General E.M. Law,
Dear Sir,
Your letter of the 19th inst. has been duly received. For the capital ambrotype portrait of your self I am exceedingly obliged, as it will make a most interesting addition to my collection of Civil War officers.
I am making a strong effort to find some one among my/acquaintances who will purchase the entire lot with me, in order that I may select the few lots that I desire for my own collection, while he retains the balance.
This will probably take some little time, but you may rely upon me to bring the matter to a settlement as soon as possible.
Hoping you will pardon the delay, in consideration of the very dull times, & hoping soon to be able to send you a favorable report, I remain, with deep respect,
Very truly yours,
Robt. Coster
