Hon Geo W Parker

                        Dr Sir
While in the Assembly last winter you cheerfully assented to assist me in securing a position in the service the troops to be raised at that time however were all put into old Regts There is now however a call for 500 000 and I have made application for the Command of a Regt. from this state May I not believe that you will assist me to the best of your ability in securing such a position Genl. Baker promised me the other day to help me all he could but perhaps a jog of his memory of any service I might have rendered him last winter hinted to him in a proper way by the right individual would help me much. Your assistance with the Gen is also requested.                                                                                                                                            Yours Respectfully
                                                                                                            Jos Andrews
