Dear Father
                        And Mother I seat my self in my tent this beautiful Sabbath evening to write a few lines to you. I received your Likeneses to day I was so glad to see the fase of my own dear Mother once more that it all most feched tears to my eyes, and my mind was filled with old times. I wished my self back a gain to the old home stead where I spent my youthful dayes and had I wings I should of wrose in the air and when I did stop to rest it would have been in Old Almond/ at the brick hous two miles south of Darts Store but then I stopped and thought to my self, when will the time com for me to return home. some thing seamed to say, God knows all things he will send me back in due time, if it is for me to go back, but if it is for me to do be go back then I humbly trust God will give me strength to live in the survace of my Dear Savior Ma I humbly ask yours prayrs for my spiretual well fair;
 
I am anxiously waiting to hear about the hors I wrote you about. I hope if you cannot get one get/ another. I want a good hors well built well shapet and purfect hors not less than 6 or 7 and not over 11 years old. the man you get one of will have to go to Portage with it and what ever the Govermment or the men chosen prises the hors the money will be payed down. I do not know whether the men that have been sent from here will take charge of the horses will assist in taking them there or not. Mortain Karr will sea you about my horse so as to be shure of getting one for me. pleas let me know as soon as you can about it do not fail for all the world in getting me a good horse. but I must end for this time. this is from your Son
