I received a letter from you yestarday and one day before yestarday. but our Company was on guard up to the Depot and so I could not ans your letters before to day. but I am well onley I have got a boil on my set down but it is onley a small one. our Squadroon a squadron is two companies is going some whear I guess to escort General Terry about 10 miles to some place I do not know the name. they will be back to night. I am on night Picket and I do not have to go. well Ma and Mrs Hide have got to be Sister an Laws I thought when I hurd Ma was Marred that Mrs Hide would do so to, but little did I think that they would marry Brothers but so it is. I suppos every one has who they want. I did and wer I to chose tenn years I could not suit my self any better they both fell in love quick and Marred quick, and I wish them much joy, and may joy and peace go with them through life and when they leave this world may they go rejoiceing in God, and so may we all. I can say it is my desire to in such a manner and when I come to die I shall not be sorry for being prepaired. O Sis pray for me and I will for you./
Did you get a receipt for the box and did you expres it or how did you send it pleas let me know for I have not got it
Sis where is Edwin and Deal I have wrote two or three times about them, once or twice to them and all I have herd about them was that Edwin had gone to get work. now Sarah pleas do write and tell me all about them and about what is going on arround home, about the crops and every thing you can think of. now Sis I tell you the truth when I say that I have not had a singal letter from any one in three months onley one from Amy and one from Ma and your kind letters I do not know any more about thing at home and arround the neighbor hood than as if there was no such place as Almond, and now it your Old Mans request for you to tell all about such things every time you write, and I will do the same. you may think/ am finding falt, but I do not mean any such thing. you know it must be natural for any one that is away from home as I am wants to know all that is going on at home. I have sent you a Map of Richmond you can see where we ar for I have marked the place, and an other smaller one I have marked three places on the right you can see what they ar better than I can tell you. there a good deal of move ment now among our men. we have drove Old Lee back and now our men ar going to strike for fredreck Citty. the Pontoon train and guards camped about one mile from our camp last night. they ar hastoning allong so our men can get accrost the river. the Cars ar going all of the time with men and Batteres, but I can not tell any thing about it onley we our men have had some fighting of late with Old Lee. but time will tell of our success. we ar now guarding the railroad. but I must end for this time tell Amy and Ma and all the rest to write. ans soon this is from your Soldier Boy
