Dear Brother
I take this opertunity to write you a fiew lines I am well as usual I have not recived any letters from home lateley I have recived one letter from Marietta since we have been here I can hit the bigness of a man two hundread yards with that revolver you sent me there is nothing new here now I am at a mans house who is from the State of maine he is a fine man is a good union man but there/ is plenty of men here who if they dard would bee in favor of Jef Davis So we have to watch our selvs some when we are out in the country I wish you would send mee a paper from home once in a while if you can I like a soldiers life prety well but I should lik to come home and see the folks first rate this winter if I could I wish you would tell me if they are raising any toops there now I must close write soon remember mee to all my friends from your brother
