Dear Brother
            I take this opertunity to write to you I am well as yet and hope I shall coninue so we are now camped at a town called M Merfersborough tenn. abought 25 Miles from nash vill our camp is caled camp Van buron we have Just returned from a scouting pa expidition we have been about fifty miles below here but we saw nothing of the rebles/ I have not heard how our troops were gitting along in other placs for a fiew days but surpose they are giting along well I wish you would send mee a paper that gives an acount of your town meeting I will send you two or three pieces that I cut out of a see sesh paper to let you see how they talk about us there perhaps you have seen the like before I will not write any more now write soon from your brother
