Dear brother
It is with pleasure I now address you these few lines to let you know that I am not very well but able to doing duty I have fell away about 20 pounds in the past 6 weeks which begins to tell on my strength quite fast We have got 6 guns now we are under marching orders now I believe but donot expect to march for a week or more yet We have drawn 70 or 80 new horses now they are nice looking horses I will not write anything this time as I did not intend to write/ a letter when I seated myself
