I rieved your welkome leter yesterd and was glad to hear from you once more I am well att present and hop you the sane we are haven a grate time heer now thare was about 400 of old hoockers men come in heer the other day and thay are trying to make them worke but thy wont the conma Commander of the Camp has got the 4 and/ the 7 Reserve heer to day and going to forse thm to but I ges thay wil hav a nise time before he gets throw with them the [?] is heer tot day that Vickisburg is tacking I hope so Wal J Jane I hav righting to Erwin twise but hav not hurd from him I gis that hee is a runing the farm a lone now tel me hoo is thare with Erwin and Elisa while thare thay are down the river thay must/ hav a nise time thare now Wal Jane I send this pin to you
