            Dear Sister
                                                                                                                        I take this
optunity to pen A few lines to you to let you no how I get along and whare I am I am well And hope theas few lines will finde you in the same fix I am with my Regment in good quarters but Prety hard duty to do on Picket evry other day the Rebs is comen in evry nite and sum of our felers going over to the rebs to but I dont think that I shal go over quite yet I dont want to starve bad Anof for that it rained heer all day yesterday
 
And is rainen yet/
 
Janey I hav not herd from home for about two weakes I am looking for a letter evry day I wrote home as quick as I got to the regment I hav not hurd from Erwin for A good while Tom Backer And Adelaid Chatman is Mared I hear I think he must been hard up for A Wife to Fater 2 Chidern that he dont one what do you think ant Margret I thet thot that Tom wold get Eliza Eliza Allen but it seams not but that is not all that I her is mared Sack Winn I heer is mared to Elen Eastman That is A big thing aint it Janey I went over to the Ninth Cor the other day And seen Charley Abbott he was well and having A nise time he will get home about the same time thit I will/
