Dear and ever belovid
wife I now take the plesure of writing a few lines to you for I have got a plaice I expect to stay longe in [paper fold] is not aney betar and I am not very well I hav had the bludey flux and caught coald and quite weak but I hope that this will find you all well I have bin traveling from one hospital to the other so that I have not heard from you in over tow weaks nor from the regment eather we had A tolerent ride from Baltimore hear yesturday on a steamer [paper fold] miels I roat to you when I was in the division hospital on the field and toald you of my loosing my napsack and every thing I had my needals thread paper and all that was in my napsack and no money to bey more with and I am a litel afraide that thay will be paid off and I wont be there to get mine but it will come good som time you must excues my short letar and the writing on acounte of my eyes for thay do pain me when I yues them to read or write/
tell James Re that I answerd his letar the next day after receiving his but have not heard from him since he must excues me a liteal whial untill my eyes are betar and then I will write to all but it is as mutch as I can do to write to you so no more at presant my love to you all and believe your ever loving husband untill death
