it is with plesure that I emprove the time this Sunday morning to answer your kind lettar of the 31th and was glad to hear from you I am well at presant and hope theas few lines will find you all enjoying the same blessing from God I sent you my likeness in my last lettar and would like your as soon as you can send it to me I think that I will sell my watch soon and then I can send you som/ more money for I know you nead the money more than I do the watch Leveret Starkwithers has got back to the comp again he came hear last thirsday Dea Mary I would A gratedeal rather reade A lettar from you than hear shorty tell his yarns for I cant believe half of his stoarys we have to pay 60 cetes a pound for buttar and not very good at that cheese is 40 cets but I doant by mutch of eather we live princeply on goverment rations and that is bread shugar an coffey beans potatoes an poark the potatoes is very scarse I would like to troop in/ som morning and take brekfast with you dos Pa work with John Samford or dos he work for him self I entend to go to meating at eleven oclock but I wishe that I was thare to go with you John is well at presant I had a lettar from Mary Birnie but have not answerd it yet and I doant care about writing to hure a grate deal for she dos not write aney news I would rather have one lettar from you than all she can write I will bringe this to a close by sending you my love and beste wishes and believe me now and ever your loving husband untill death
