Dear wife it is with plesure that I emprove theas few momentes to write you A few lines to let you know that I am well at presant and hope you ar all the same I have not got mutch news to write but I have heard that the mail is to be stoped for thirty days but how true it is I doant know but I doant hardley believe it I have got to go on gard to morow morning the christan comision leaves hear on monday next so that I think we will have to/ leave hear hear before long we have a rebal major hear to night and he sayes that we will have lotes of the Jones to gard before longe for thare is lotes that wantes to get in side of our lines John Swanson is well at presant he has just bin promoted to a Sargent the wether is getting quite warm hear now Dear Mary my mind is to full to writ some of the time I feal discoreage but let ous put our trust in god and all will be well at last and if it is his will to let me come home to my familey once more it will be the/ gratesed blessing I expect on this earth so let ous try and ceepe up good corage for god has tacon care of me so long and can take care of me longar write as oftan as you can for it dos me so mutch good to hear frome you I have not got aney letter frome you since I roate befor but I roat a few days ago I will wait until morning and see what turnes up good morning Dear wife I am well except a little headacke but that dos not amount to mutch my hart akes a grate deal worse thoes shirtes you sent me is good yet I think thay will last me/ all sumar thay are a grate deal bettar than uncal Sames shirtes write oftan and let me know how all the folkes are for you are the onley one that writes to me George has forgot ous in tiarley for we have not received a lettar from him in alonge time and onley one this wintar I believe thare is not mutch to write this time so I will bring this to a close by sending my love and beste wishes to you I still remain your true and loving husband untill death
