Dear Sister
I think you did not get the last letter last that i sent you by your writing i had a letter from John C a short time ago dated the 2 of the month he was well and said that the Dockers said that Joun Douglass would louse his arm. i do not think that the boys miss him mutch out of the ninteen for thair was not a great many that like him, or Albert eather. John said that he was glad that i got out of the ninteen for it was the hard reg in the service you see that i have not got home yeat but i do not know how long it will be before i get a Furlow i hope it will not be long for i should like to get home a stop a wile think that D Morse was foolish in getting his discharge i do not think i shall get mine/ Discharge for a year yeat to come for i am getting good Pay and doing nothing if i was at home i could not do mutch any way thair is one of out of the Company that i am in is at home and has ben thair abought three month and i had a letter him the other day he said 12 dollars a month is better than 8 dollars he is got his arm of he said he is in no hast abought tal tacking his discharge and that is whare i think he is right we have not had mutch snow hear this winter and it has ben very nice wether most of the time but it look a great deal l like we were going to have a storm.
i think that the letter that Augustus sent to John C was a pretty good one. i think my self that John C is tird of the war by what he wrote to me i think that thay have a rather hard time of it for that have not any thing but shelter tents to lay in and the rain will go thru the as it well thru a sive that are good for nothing only to keep the sun of in summer and dew/
i had a letter from SC a few days a go he said that George G had ben Tuck working with him and was macking good wages and i am glad of it. if i was SC i would go to School this winter to Mr Price if he heep a School for i think it would be better for him than a trade if a man is got good learning he can most always get along well if thay steady and look out of for thair sef self and any one dous not see the used of learning antill thay away from home than thay see the use of it i would give most any thing if i had good learning that is abought all a man want. learning is better than money i do not think of any more to write at Present so i will close by biding you good by
From your Affect Brother
Frederick
