Dear Sister
I got your letter of the 22nd last night. it is the first one I have got since the 13th. then I got one from Ben and A. M. and one from Aunt Allen. I got two papers from Malden Sunday. we get a good many papers and books here. I like here as well as ever. tell Mother I have not been out much of late for we have had rain and snow, and now it is froze and vary icy. I fetch the wood from the Celler for the fire and tend on some of the sickest ones here. so I have not much to do. if I wer at home and feeling as well as I now do I would work all the time, but I must have warm place to sleep or I would soon be sick again./
you wrote about sending me a Box. well I do not care any thing about one now for we have plenty to eate and it is good. I wish I had let you sent one while I was at the Ferry for I did not get one half enough to eate while I was there. I think I will stop here a while longer yet for I do not intend to leave here until I am sent away. I think the letter Fred sent me has gone to the Ferry and I have sent there for them, so you see I did not hear any thing about the wood Land only what Augustus M. wrote. he also wrote Julia was agoing to send me 100 by mail I have not heard any thing from it yet. I got a letter from Andrew last night tell him I will amswer it soon. he wrote for news that Lews was married and John S Crafts was crazy. I have not got any letters from Maria of late I think I must have plenty of them somewhere—/
I did not hear Ben and Caddie had parted for he never wrote any thing about it. you wanted to know about paper and envelopes well the Christian Commission supply us so we have plenty but I wish they would furnish us with Stamps. Tell Augustus M. He need not be quite so private about his letters for he can let any one see them. I think Augustus is geting on vary well or he would not be buying so much Land. well I hope he will get along for he has tried hard enough—
give my love to all—
