                                                                        Great Barrington Jan 14th—63
 
Dear Brother
                        Yours came in due time and I was pleased to hear from you again but was surprised to learn that you had not found out what that receipt meant now I will send the one that Fairchild sent me and then there will be no mistake but I want you to send me one of the receipts back again so I can have one of them and I wish you would send me $10.00 for I want it I cannot get anything until I quit this place and I am getting short I am telling you the truth now Albert and I need it very much I do not know how long I shall stay here I may stay until spring and I may not two weeks business is quite dull at the present time and so is every thing in regard to that matter I was out to Uncle Guys last Sunday and had a good time the Old folks/ attended church and the young folks cut up Mattie has been unwell for the past two or three weeks but is better now last night it snowed some and to day it is all going again I do not see why Sarah does not write to me I have written her two letters since she has written to me I wish you would see why she does not answer my letters George is attending school at this place and I have a chance to see him every day Uncle Guy is hauling wood down here and I see him every day have you heard from McCarty or any of my Company I would like to know wher they are and what is Orville Cotton doing write all the news and send me $10.00 as soon as you can and believe me your Brother
