Dear Mollie
                                    your kind favor of the latest has been read with the greatest of pleasure and this pleasant Sabbath morning finds your humble servent seated to the pleasant task of replying to the same. alltho I have nothing of interest to communicate I endeavor to interest you for a short time I was vary happy to hear of your good health and that you was enjoying your self so well. I did think we would be on our way home before this but today finds us in the same place we was when I wrote your last letter yet I hope it will not be a greate while untill we will be / at home our papers are all posted and we only await transportation to the Gulf which I think can be got in the next week then I think we will will start
 
                                    Well now I do not know what to write Oh yes have you had any snow in Gods country yet. I think they have forgotten to send Winter to this place for the weather remains vary warm yet I think it as warm here now as midsummer North. yet I expect we will get cold enough going the Ohio River but enough of this I am tireing you I know then I do not want to tell you all I know now for if I do I would not have anything to tell when I get home you know Mollie
