Williamson Plant to Miriam E. Drake, 25 July 1867
Greenville Bond Co. Ills.
July 25 1867
Mrs Miram E Smith
I regret that the necessity of the case compels me to write you again concerning the Estate of Henry B Drake—There was filed by Elliott & Hynes a debt against Dr Drakes Estate for 35 or 40 dollars; about three or four years afterward a claim was filed against Henry’s Estate for sixty odd dollars—Now what I wish to know is wheather Henry ever paid this first Claim of Elliott & Hynes. I have some how or other got it in my mind, that the last Claim which was filed by Hynes against Henry’s Estate was made up of some store goods and the old claim against the Dr—I would like for you write and say if you know any thing about these claims, what they were, and what made them, and if the first one against the old Dr’s Estate has ever been settled, and if so how?—The claim of Sixty odd dollars against Henrys Estate, I have long since paid. Alfred Hynes claims to have a claim of 12 or 15 dollars against old Mrs Drake, do you know any thing about that. An early reply will assist me very much in settleing up an Estate that should have been closed long since Yours &c
