                                                                                                            Rock Island Ill.
 
            Dear Brother
                                    I have just Recieved your letter of the ninth of march it found me not well but on the mend I have had a svier spell of the Fever I hope that I will be well in a fiew days tell mama and sister Ann that I have som Rings for them if I ever get the chance to send them hom I hope that the time is not far off when that I can come hom and stay thare in peace this is the thrird time that I wrote to you and I have wrote three times as often to papa I want you to tell papa for him & Mr Gardner to prepare a box of tobaco in copardnership and send to Charls N Gardner & myself olld home spun twwist I was sory to hear that sister was sick and away from hom but I hop that she will soon bee well and return to school again tell Clinton that he must Give my respects to all the Girls Give my love to mama & papa & all the chl children allso Mrs Winn and Family
