Dear Mother
And sisters I now shall attempt to adress you in af lines Ma I recieved all those things that you sent me by Mr Carney I got twoo shirts a pare of socks which I have nover so muttch as tried onn one pocket knife which I lost at Jackson and letter paper and envelopes Mr Carney sayed that he saw you at Mr Triggs he sayed that you look very well which was a grate consolation to me ma do not not think that becaus that I am a way from hom and have not got any body to care / for me that I will becom reckless and gamble and drink whiskey I think too mutch ofe you and pa and my litle brother and sisters for that you rember well what that I told you the knight befor that I left hom I allmost trembled for fear that I was rong but tim has fulely developed the fact to me that I am wright and thoug I nover see you all agan apon o earth I hope to meet you all in heaven with out the loss of one I must close asking you all to remember me
