Dear Brother
your welcom message of the first came to hand to day It found mee as you hoped enjoying that blessing which wee never can bee too thankfull for. The heath of this Prison is beter than could bee expected at this season thare is some smallpox hear Oliver Taylolr (was) sick & at the hospital when I was captured Colman Highsmith was with his command thar is one of my company at chicago Ed Rose Billy Pery & John Sawyers is hear they are all well you say that you and Clinton have bin going to school at Green Briar you must tell mee who taught & whether thare was any Girls thar or not and if Miss Sarah Smith was thare tell me who that clinton goes to see on Sunday and your self allso tell me about your cows horses and stock you say that Sister Ann starts to schooll monday tell her to bee a good Girl and learn fast wright often and give me all the Domestick News that you have for the Presant
