your very kind letter of the 24 camet of this month came to hand to day I am happy to say that it found ver mutch improved though not entirely well I was glad to hear that mama and sister was well and sister going to school again it is just one weeake to day since I recieved a letter from cornelious I got sisters letter but wee are limited to one letter now to one letter a weeake so I could not awnswer it you may tell mama that I think she will have to furnish me a suit of Jeanes next fall or winter for it seames as though wee are prisnors for the ware and it is uncertain how long that will bee I fear that it will bee a lie a lifetime I dont mean to say that I need any clothing at this time the health of this prison is mutch better than it was last winter the smallpox nearly entirely died out thare has about twelve hundred died out of six thousand since wee have bin hear tell Richard Highsmith that he must wright to me I will try to wright to you evry Friday for the presant I must close
