Dear Father
your letter of the seventeenth of this month cam to hand on the twenty second I was sorry to hear that Clinton was not well but hope that he will bee well soon this leaves me enjoying a reasonable portion of health I hav got the money ($5) that you sent I got it in the evening after I wrote my laste. the Mr Stoaks that you spoke of is in Barracks No 37 I do not know whether he got his cloths or not I will see him in a few days and tell him to wright. I am very anxious to come home but do not know that I ever shall you neede not come to see me just yet I do not think thare woould bee any sattisfaction in such a trip to eather of us. but if you can get me out at any time I will bee more than glad to come home and live with you the balance of my days tell Theodosia that she is very mutch mistaken about my forgetting her if I was to live to bee one hundred years old and never see any of you again that I never would forget the day that I left and how mutch Theodosia was concerned May an all wise Providence Direct you all in the ways of Rightiousness is the prare of
