Dear Father
                        Yours of the ninth of september came to hand last Tuesday the 14th it found me very well thanks bee to an all wise providence and I am glad to learn that you are all enjoying the same Blessing I hope that Sandy is well again as reguards my cloths I do not think you need bee uneasy thar is no such clothing as I wrote for stoped from coming in to prisners they only stop fine clothing such as is made for cidisens the citizens the clothing must we must bee of a grey or dark coler and only one suite of outward and a chang of under garments and no breds or provisons then they will come safe to me or at least others of the same discription ar permitted to com I have a splendid hat so you need not send one send the Tobaco that you spoke of having for me and a peace of shaving soape I can not send you the express reseat as I never have got one yet but rest well assured that it is no fault of mine the rings ar lost to you as well as myself I will have some more made and keep them untill I can bring them home as this is the surest method of getting them thare the wether is getting very cool up hear it was cold a plenty for frost last knight but the rain and wind prevented it tell Molly that she must learn to wright to me and tell me if she is as mischevious now as when I was at hom for the presant I must close
