Dear Father
two of your letters came to hand this weak one the twelfth and the other was the ninteenth they found me enjoying very good health I was sory to hear that ma was sick I hope that she is well before this though yours of the ninteenth said nothing to that affeck you say that you are buying tobaco and from what that I can learn I fear its a dangeous buisness you must bee carfull the Robbers may find you out and bush whack you before you can help your self I have heard a great deal about Robbers in that country though I hope they may be killed reguardless of who they I received my money the fifteenth and wrote you immediately I hop you get my letters regular for I love to get letters from you let them come when they may I shall come home this spring if I live and keep well you need entertain no fears of my going south I hav learnt which side of my Bread is buttered do not trouble yourself any more about a petition it is too late now but maybee the one that has gon up will be approved if it is not wrest well contented for I hope that I will come home soon Give my love to ma
