Barbara Croft
Barbara Croft (maiden name: Herr) was born around 1798 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She married John Croft, and they had at least three children: Sarah, born on April 4, 1830; Benjamin, born around 1836; and Samuel, born around 1839. They lived in Pittsburgh, and her husband worked as a merchant. Her husband apparently died sometime before 1860. By 1860, she owned $60 of real estate and $100 of personal property. A decade later, she owned $25,000 of real estate and $500 of personal property. She died in 1874.
