Dear Jennie
I received your letter last night & was very glad to hear from you though I did not expect to get one from you quite so soon

You say that we could not injoy a good Thanksgiving dinner supper well we may not have had quite so good a one as you did but the our friends in Manchester sent us three turkeys & we had a good supper though it was on / Saturday instead of Thanksgiving

But it tasted just as good as it had been on that day & there was some frosted cakes with the rest that I forgot to mention & potatoes turnips apples & a few other things & taking all of them together we had quite a good supper & injoyed as well I think as we should if we had been to home

You sent me a piece of paper stating that we should leave here in a short time & you say you hope not but I hope we shall for I have got tired of staying here & want to go where there is some fighting

We shall probaly leave here in two weeks at the furtherest & then you dont expect to see me after that again but you can here from me & write to me for letters will come there as well as they do here

Now Jennie if I should not / get back you have got your my picture to look at I am not afraid to go & I would not come back to M— if I could I shall go & if I am killed I shall die in a good caus & that is fighting for my country

Now Jennie you do not think that I would trifle with your friends so much as to lett some one els read your letters but my self I hope not But your picture the boys in my tent have seen that I could not help for there is ten men stay in one of these little tents & when I took it out of the letter they was on all sides of me & I could not help seeing there seeing it I hope you will forgive me for that but your letters cannot be seen by any one but myself

We have a Sunday school down here in the tenth reg is that not / nice

But I must close now for it is about time to go out on battalion drill from
yours truly write soon
                                    Willie
