                                                                        Nicholasville. Ky. april 10th/64
 
Dear Sister
                        We have orders to leave hear at six oclock in the morning whare we are a going I cannot tel we had orders two days ago to packup but wer countermanded I think we will go this time for surtian I suppose they will have us moveing all summer now seeing we have started
 
I am very glad to hear that John is at home injoying himself I would like / to be at home for a few days but as it is I cannot be thare I hope when one of us get home agin we will be thare together
 
Dear Sister I have mailed a noviel yesterday for you I shall send one to day I hope you will get them I would like to know if you have got that company record yet or not you will find it at John Mckee’s if you have not got it allredy perhaps when John goes back to Kalamazoo he can send it home with the team that takes him thare Mc’kees / store is two doors north of Rice & Allens on burdick street

Dear Brother John yours of March 28th was duley received I should have answered it before this but I have been knocking around about this Vilege for the last three or four days on duty but I’ve got off now and I’ll improve the time writen letters I think I would rather be in the field than on this infernal Provost duty this town is most all CS we have / had one of our gards shot since we arrived hear if our offerecers would let us go at them red hot I would like it this garding rebal property I do not like I cannot write much this time for we move tomorrow whare to I don’t know
