Dear Sister

                        I take the pen in my hand to write a few lines to you to let you know how I am I have had the ague for the last two weeks but I am well now and feel firstrate now I think I shal be home in a week or two but not to stay and under what circumstances you will know just as soon as you see me I think I shal see John by next winter or erly in the spring I have seen Mr Walter last thursday he sead the folks wer all well and doing well I have had a letter from John last / week he was well when he wrote the letter I dont know of any more to write now give my love to Father and Mother and write as soon as you git this direct to
