                                                                                    Sept 8th/63
 
            Dear Sister
                        Truly glad am I of this priviledge of writing to you I am now camped in A valley Bethween the mountains about 40 miles from Rome Ga. and about 100 miles from Atlanta Ga.
 
I am enjoying good health which I hope this will find you the same I am west of Chattanooga the corps to which I belong is on the right and are flanking the Rebles which I hope we will accomplish our destination I think is Rome the Rebles are still at Chattanooga but I do not think they will stay there very long tis thought that this war will not last another year which I hope it will not there is no peticular news to write / of the present and as we have orders to march At 12 Oclock I shall have to close
