Sis after a long space of abisance I again atempt to write you afiew lines to let you know where we ar at we landed at this place on the 28th and the command left on the 29 to join the rigament thare was a good many that was not able to wride and was left back. I was one of this number I expect to start to the comand in a fiew days
 
the last I heard from you you was sick I hope this will find you well I seen John Pilser after he was wonded / he told me that you was sick on Black River
 
thare is a larg command of cavalry where the Baiyo is gon the Suppision is that we will go in to texes
 
General Prenis is trining to get purmision to go throu to texes with a command if he dos we will be apt to go with him I hope so at least for I think we will have good helth. I have not heard from home for som time I have nothing more worth writing so I will close hoping to hear from you soon
