The day is pleasant but rather too cool for comfort Yet the trip was pleasant. we will be off in a half hour for St Louis. How long we will stay there—or where we shall go I dont know, but off for Dixie soon. I was intending to ask you to write me soon to St Louis but I forgot it, in my hurry. but hope you will do so, as I want to hear from you before leaving there I forgot the [?] pen in my vest pocket, send it to me please. excuse my short letter I am in great haste to get this to the office before the boat leaves I will write you again between here & St Louis Good bye—be a good girl—
