I embrace this leasure oportunity to adress you a few liens to let you know all is well with me hoping you are all well also Colonel Slack tolde me to day that we woulde leave here day affter to morrow we leave for Kentucky I have got my uniforme sworde and pistols I have got two suits one dress suite and one fatigue suite I have got just as good as any of them if not better I sende you my likeness whitch is not verry good owing to them rinkles in my Coate I was in a hurry or I woulde have another one taken. Malvina I hope you will enjoy your selfe nothing woulde please me better than to know sutch was the case if you at any time feel unwell aply amediately to Dr Melery or Melsheimer /
I shal frequently write to you as often as circumstances will admit of this day is my birth day. kiss the little ons for me and tell them I offten think of them as it is bed time I will Close yours most truly
